Freedom of Expression for I.S.25

As you can see, more and more schools are now adopting one of the most hated practices of formal education, having a dress code. Individuality and freedom of expression is vital, so we can truly identify ourselves and could easily display our own sense of our own personality. Being told otherwise and asked to be in uniform with everyone around you doesn’t make it easier to display each and every person’s uniqueness. No more I Love NY shirts. No more baggy jeans. Each student will now have to buy bland polo shirts and pants when they could have saved money and wore their clothes from last year, and perhaps even spent their money on some clothes they would like. Clothes have always been an important way to express ourselves, and they are going to take that away from the pupils of I.S.25. What happened to the I.S.25 that dazzled with individuality? Now, even has a new gym uniform that would match the dress code! And we would have to spend more money on THAT. If you are an I.S.25 student who is against the dress code and wants to stand up for their beliefs, it would be wise to sign this petition. Remember, one signature CAN make a difference!
