Repeal of Smart Growth |
To: Governor James DoyleBy the rights granted in our State Constitution and by the power of the People of the State of Wisconsin, we the undersigned acknowledge by resolution:
WHEREAS, We The People, as citizens of these United States and residents of Wisconsin acknowledge our Constitution as the Supreme Law of this great state, and
WHEREAS, we the tax paying public, recognize Article I, Section 14 of the Wisconsin Constitution which states: “All lands within the state are declared to be allodial, and feudal tenures are prohibited,” and
WHEREAS, the Joint Finance Committee voted 10-6 to repeal the legislation contained in Section 66.1001,Wisconsin Statutes, commonly referred to as Smart Growth and
WHEREAS, we recognize that the continuation of this law will result in unfunded mandates among the taxpayers of this great state, and
WHEREAS, the consequences of this act may result in loss of property rights, increased government regulation and economic hardships, and
WHEREAS, we recognize this law (66.1001) may, over time, evolve into state land control which will only serve to empower state bureaucrats and erode individual property rights;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the People of the State of Wisconsin, seeking true representation, that we strongly support the decision and the vote of the Joint Finance Committee to repeal the Smart Growth law, 66.1001 and that our Governor, James Doyle, honor and respect their decision and the will of the people represented in this resolution.
