We the undersigned request that John Nettles be given a Knighthood.

John Nettles is a very talented actor but doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Who could imagine two completely different coppers played by the same actor but John Nettles has managed it as did the late great John Thaw. John has made both the roles of Bergerac and Tom Barnaby in Midsomer Murders his own and should be rewarded for this. Every time it comes to award ceremonies on television John Nettles is always overlooked. He never even gets a nomination to get the chance of winning an award never mind loses out to the eventual winner on the night. It seems very unfair as he is a far more talented person than some of the soap actors who are nominated for the Best Actor award at all the television award ceremonies that exist.

Please consider what has been said in this petition because the person to whom it concerns has got real genuine talent.
