We the undersigned believe the creators of the animated movie WALLE should give robot design credit where credit is due, specifically to the creators of the Short Circuit movie and the Short Circuit robot, who is also known as "Number 5" or "Johnny 5".

Wheras, Short Circuit's "Number 5" is a licensed and copyright controlled cultural icon of the 1980s and loved by millions, the WALL-E robot bears several key features that mimic and resemble the likeness of "Number 5" with no credit given. A side by side comparison of the two robots reveals subtle differences in height, however the new robot shares 75\% of the same features as the original "Johnny 5".

The undersigned believe animation is a great art form and that imagination and creativity should be encouraged and promoted. Allowing this design to be based on someone else's copyrighted image does not foster creativity or imagination.
