Considering the magnitude of the collapse of salmon stocks on the west coast of Canada we the undersigned would like to send the following message to Gordon Campbell Premiere of British Columbia and Stephan Harper Prime Minister of Canada.

Due to the total incompetence of those in charge of fish farming on the coast of British Columbia, we the undersigned would like to see an immediate moratorium placed on all fish farms.

We also call for a full inquiry into the DFO to determine just how competent they are, likewise it also investigate if adequate funding is available for the DFO that may have led to the problems we are facing today.

We understand there is a lot of money being made by fish farms; however we as citizens of a free and democratic country also have the right to say we are happy to forgo that economic benefit to insure the conservation of our natural heritage.

We are asking you to close immediately all fish farms in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, and if necessary pay the legal consequences. We believe that the cost of not doing so leads to the extinction of hundreds of genetically independent species of salmon and or other fish.

Further we ask that all the required funding be made available for salmon enhancement programs, inclusive of creating, upgrading and properly funding the hatcheries in British Columbia to repair the damage that has been done.
