We, the undersigned, do hereby declare that Prayer is a vitally important part of American Christian History. We want our voice to be heard that the National Day of Prayer is critical to our future. We, in Kansas, agree, and proclaim that the National Day of Prayer shall continue. President Truman signed a bill in 1952, proclaiming a National Day of Prayer must be declared by each president on a date of his choosing. We declare that the first Thursday in May is set aside for prayer as written in the law signed in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.
