We are some of your most enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard-core fans. We've been keeping the Backstreet pride alive for many years and have no intentions of stopping.

However, we do have some concerns about the new album, "This Is Us."

We're excited that you're taking a new direction with your music. We've loved all the different influences you've brought to the Backstreet essence in the past. But we're worried that, based on the leaked tracks we've heard, the Backstreet essence might be drowned out by your new endeavors.

We're hearing catchy beats and fun lyrics, but we're not hearing Backstreet.

The albums titled "This Is Us," but we're wondering whether it really is you, or whether it's an emulation of what's popular on the radio now.

Many of us are Backstreet fans because of your incredible vocal talent and the awe-inspiring harmonies you produce. We're afraid that Autotune and other distortion effects will hide that away from us.

Further, part of the "Backstreet pride" is being fans of beautiful music, especially when it doesn't sound like every other top artists' does. We're proud of your unique, soulful music, not tracks that can be mistaken for a number of other artists' work.

We know that exploring new things is important to you, and we support you in that. We also know that getting radio time and selling records is important to you. We, too, want the greatest success for you; we're your fans and we're your biggest advocates.

But we're worried that when this album is released, we'll be advocating for something that is not Backstreet.

We ask that before you complete this album, you make sure that that Backstreet essence shines through on every track. Please don't forget all of the wonderful things that have made you our favorite artists for the past 16 years.

We love you, we want the best for you, and we're excited for "This Is Us."
