Use of consultants in Lambeth Council

To:  The Chief Executive of Lambeth Council and all Executive Directors

We the undersigned note that lambeth spends £4.6 million a year on consultants in Regeneration and Housing alone.

We do not believe that it is good value for money for consultants to be used for years at a time. Consultants and "interim" managers do not have a long term commitment to Lambeth.

We support the police agreed at UNISON's Annual Meeting that the Union should not negotiate with consultants but with established Council employees.

We call upon the Council to ensure that they are represented at meetings with the trade unions by established employees.
