We, the undersigned, as fans and supporters of the Olympic champion Michael Phelps, demand that Octagon Agency to take action by sending a clear message out to the world of their support and respect for Michael Phelps and to be more aggressive in their approach in promoting him for his skills, abilities and the phenomenal athlete he is.
The most talked about picture was published February 1, 2009 and Mr. Phelps made this statement: "I engaged in behaviour which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment," Phelps said in the statement released by one of his agents. "I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

Clearly, Michael’s apology combined with his three months suspension from USA Swimming, and unbelievable fan support has not been enough for media to stop talking about the incident.

As a global Corporate Enterprise, We feel Octagon did not meet its responsibility in managing Michael Phelps image. When you signed on Michael Phelps at the age of 15, we the fans and supporters of the sport of swimming have entrusted to you the complete care of bringing the "Sport of Swimming to New Levels". Also, Octagon has failed as a Corporate Sports Agency in protecting & promoting the sport of swimming, with contracts that inhabit "A family orientated sponsorship”. Because of your lack of ability to guide and direct Michael Phelps the sport of swimming's new levels have been set back 20 years!...

Octagon also has a responsibility to make a statement to show support and put stop to this issue. They need to take a more direct approach to put this matter to rest to allow Mr. Phelps to focus on his goals and move on with his life.

We ask that the matter be given immediate attention!
