Keep Left-Hand Drive Vehicles on South African Roads |
To: Department Of TransportDepartment of Transport
Attention: Sam Monareng
We the Undersigned sign this petition in protest to the proposed "15th amendment" to the regulation allowing the operation on public roads of left-hand drive vehicles that were registered or licensed before 2000.
This amendment that will remove the ability for owners to sell their property and for the new owner to register said property in their name, this is not in the best interest of the South African public and is our belief to be unconstitutional.
We also feel there is no significant proof that the stated reason for amendment being that "it is not safe to drive such a vehicle on our roads" is true and that the left-hand drive vehicles are just as safe as any other vehicle on the South African Roads.
Sincerely,
