We believe that public transport to and from Celtic Park on matchdays is completely inadequate, with traffic congestion causing major delays on bus routes serving the Parkhead area.

In order to address this issue we propose that a new station be built at the site where the Helensburgh - Airdrie railway line crosses Duke Street. This would also provide a service for visitors to the Parkhead Forge Shopping Centre. A map of this location can be found here.

We also propose that a priority bus lane should be created along London Road to tackle delays. This bus lane could operate only at certain specified hours on matchdays.

We call on Glasgow City Council, First ScotRail, First Glasgow, Strathclyde Passenger Transport, Strathclyde Police and the Scottish Executive to urgently consider these proposals and to come up with a joint strategy to address this problem.
