We, as stakeholders of the World Heritage site in Lumbini, Nepal call upon the Lumbini Development Trust to be more pro-active in maintaining the cleanliness of the Maha Devi Temple, the birth-place of the Buddha Gautama, especially the pond where he was first given his ritual bath which has now become stagnant and murky.

As entrance fees are collected from the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who come from all over the world annually, the Lumbini Development Trust is accountable for the proper maintenance and cleanliness of this World Heritage site.
