Protest against plans to build a new M1 motorway junction and North Luton Bypass

Since forming this petition I have recently found out that the M1 junction 11A virtually has planning permission and is a done deal. However, the North Luton Bypass is still only in the planning stage, so our protest and campaign must be aimed towards that. Thank you.

This petition is against the proposed constuction of a new junction 11a of the M1 and a bypass north of Luton linking up the new junction to the A6. The proposed road has been named the North Luton Bypass. The plans are at a very advanced stage now, the local authorities have kept it hush hush for as long as they could, we need to act now before its too late. The planned route would swallow up miles of lovely countryside and wildlife habitat. It would destroy the lives of all the people that live in the immediate area of this plan. My family moved to the area 50 years ago to get away from Londons hustle and bustle, I love to walk my dog in the fields and woods they plan to tarmac over. The people of Sundon park and other estates live here due to its close proximity to the countryside, the council cannot be allowed to rob people of this and the peace and quiet the area brings.The council cannot be allowed to screw up exsisting roads in Luton and Dunstable and then build new roads to remedy a problem they created! I am passionate about my local area and the environment, building more roads is not the answer and this ludocrous plan must be stopped. Please help my fight against this crazy plan and save this lovely countryside from the concrete jungle the authorities want. Please sign this petition, your support is greatly appreciated.
