We, the Undersigned, are in favor of the application made by Mile End Cultural Centre to the City of Montreal to have the Main Hall become designated as a Salle De Spectacle.





The Mile End Cultural Centre is a much needed venue for neighborhood and Montreal artist of all disciplines. The Main Hall venue is an affordable, high quality facility for many types of performance, including music, dance, fashion, and visual arts. The Mile End Cultural centre has a great reputation for hosting important community events including the 100th anniversary of the Main, the Fringe Theatre festival, and many events for non-profit and charitable groups. The Main Hall has hosted popular concerts by artists such as Martha Wainwright, Anthony and the Johnsons, Kid Koala, Liesa Loeb, M For Montreal, Pop Montreal, and is an essential component of Montreal's world renown independent music community. Since 1991 the Main Hall (formerly Tangueria) has hosted cultural events but the address has never been given an acquired right as a "Salle De Spectacles" from the city of Montreal. Give Main Hall a Salle De Spectacle permit and add another legitimate venue to the cultural heritage of Plateau Mont-Royal.

Nous, les soussignés, sommes en faveur de l’attribution, par l’administration de la Ville de Montréal, du statut de salle de spectacle pour la salle Main Hall du Centre culturel Mile-End.





Le Centre culturel Mile-End constitue un lieu indispensable pour le voisinage et les artistes montréalais de toutes les disciplines. Le Main Hall est une salle abordable et accessible, dont les installations de qualité conviennent parfaitement à plusieurs types de performances, y compris la musique, la danse, la mode et des arts visuels. Le Centre culturel Mile-End a la réputation enviable d’avoir accueilli des événements communautaires importants incluant le 100e anniversaire du boulevard Saint-Laurent, le festival Fringe et beaucoup d'événements bénéfices et caritatifs. Le Main Hall a été l’hôte de concerts populaires tels que ceux de Martha Wainwright, Anthony and the Johnsons, Kid Koala, Liesa Loeb, M Pour Montréal, Pop Montréal et il constitue un élément essentiel de la communauté des musiques indépendantes de Montréal dont la renommée dépasse dorénavant les frontières. Depuis 1991, le Main Hall (jadis Tangueria) a hébergé des événements culturels, toutefois jamais la Ville de Montréal n’a reconnu de droit acquis de "Salle de spectacle". Donnez au Main Hall un permis de Salle du Spectacle et ajoutez ainsi un autre espace légitime au patrimoine culturel du Plateau Mont-royal.
