La redazione e i sostenitori del sito www.difendiamomaterazzi.it protestano vivamente con la decisione della F.I.F.A. di squalificare per due giornate il calciatore dell’Italia Marco Materazzi, a seguito della vicenda che l’ha visto vittima di una testata da parte del giocatore francese Zinedine Zidane, per un insulto pronunciato dal difensore azzurro.

Lo stesso Materazzi ha ammesso di aver pronunciato frasi poco corrette verso Zidane, ma il metro di giudizio utilizzato appare assurdo e ridicolo.

Non è possibile equiparare un insulto ad una testata, un epiteto ad un gesto fisico violento.
Questa sentenza autorizza chiunque, d’ora in poi, a reagire con forza e ferocia contro chi, in campo, magari si limita ad una semplice irrisione dell'avversario.

Pur di colpire anche Materazzi, e non solo Zidane come sarebbe stato giusto, e stato creato un precedente pericolosissimo.

Ancora piu grave appare la scelta di comminare soltanto tre giornate a Zidane.

Un vero e proprio regalo all’ormai ex-giocatore francese, se paragonato alle quattro giornate inflitte al calciatore italiano Daniele De Rossi, punito per una gomitata certamente e non predeterminata ai danni dello statunitense McBride durante la partita Italia – USA.

La FIFA ha la responsabilità di tutto questo e, percio, chiediamo che ritiri il provvedimento di squalifica e riabiliti in pieno Marco Materazzi, Campione del Mondo e calciatore eccezionale.

The editorial staff and the supporters of the Italian website www.difendiamomaterazzi.it strongly protest against the decision taken from F.I.F.A. to disqualify Italian soccer player Marco Materazzi for two official games, after the accident which has seen Materazzi hit by an headbutt from French soccer player Zinedine Zidane.

Materazzi himself admitted that he told Zidane insulting words, but it was not used the same measure to judge the two soccer players.

It’s not possible to put insults and headbutts on the same level. Violent and premeditated reactions are not on the same level of simple words.

From now on this sentence authorizes everyone to react with ferocity and violence against who limits himself to tease the opponent, and creates a very dangerous precedent.

Even more unfair the decision to inflict just three matches of disqualification to Zidane. A real gift to the French soccer player if compared to the four matches of disqualification inflicted to the Italian soccer player Daniele De Rossi, punished for a not premeditated hit against the USA soccer player McBride, during the game Italy – USA.

The F.I.F.A. has the responsibility of all these matters and, therefore, we ask the F.I.F.A. to pull back the disqualification inflicted to Marco Materazzi, and to rehabilitate this World Champion and excellent soccer player.
