Sensibilização da Igreja Maná para o concerto de Madonna em Portugal -

Ao corpo administrativo da Igreja Maná e entidades vigentes,

Nos últimos dias foi dado a conhecer aos Portugueses que um dos maiores espectáculos do mundo está prestes a ser invalidado. Madonna tinha confirmado a sua presença no Pavilhão Atlântico no dia 12 de Setembro há algumas semanas. Entretanto surgiram notícias de que a Igreja Maná tinha marcado as datas anteriores ao concerto para o 20º aniversário da organização, de dia 8 a 11 de Setembro.

No entanto, para que o espectáculo de Madonna tenha lugar no nosso país, é imperativa a disponibilidade do recinto a partir do dia 9 de Setembro. A razão de tal adiantamento deve-se à necessidade de ensaios para a gravação de um DVD ao vivo e de um videoclip. Caso essas datas não sejam liberadas nada disto acontecerá, como confirmou Ricardo Casimiro da Tournée, promotora e organizadora do evento, pois o Pavilhão Atlântico é o único espaço no país que pode embargar a grande produção de todo o espectáculo.

Por isso, em nome dos fãs de Madonna e de todo o público português (e estrangeiro que se deslocaria ao nosso país para o concerto), pedimos que reconsiderem a proposta feita pela Tournée para a mudança da vossa convenção para o Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, um local perfeitamente capaz de albergar as condições necessárias para tal evento e onde já se deram importantes encontros e reuniões como a última Convenção Europeia. Seria vital a vossa solidariedade e o vosso Patriotismo já que este evento não se restringe a um mero concerto. É um espectáculo de grandes dimensões, o maior a nível mundial, que tomaria lugar em Portugal e não em Espanha, Itália, Suíça, Alemanha ou outro grande país da Europa. Seria um evento à escala internacional que juntamente com a gravação do DVD e do videoclip traria um grande prestígio ao nosso país e a elevação da nossa identidade cultural.

Temos todo o respeito pela Convenção de Fé, a perfeita noção de que é um evento de grande importância e de que a Igreja Maná tem o pleno direito de usufruir da sua reserva: mas a Igreja Maná tem um outro local, de excelentes condições, onde o pode realizar; o concerto não.

Tudo depende da vossa decisão e de um pequeno mas valoroso esforço da vossa parte. Ficaremos decerto imensamente agradecidos.

To the direction of Maná Church,

In the last few days it was announced to the Portuguese audience that one of the greatest shows in the world is on the verge of being cancelled. Madonna had already confirmed her presence in the Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon, on 12th September a few weeks ago. Meanwhile news reports arose saying that the Maná Church booked the venue for their 20th anniversary, from 8th to 11th September.

The problem is that Madonna’s show in Portugal would have to occupy the Pavilion in the days before the concert (since 9th). The reason would be the necessity for rehearsals concerning the filming and recording of the show for a DVD release and a music video. Unless those dates are released to Madonna’s crew and management the concert would be indeed cancelled for good as Ricardo Casimiro from Tournée, the tour promoter, informed in a press conference, because the Atlantic Pavilion is the only space in the country that can provide the condition required for this great production

In consequence of that, and speaking in the name of all Madonna fans and the Portuguese audience (and foreign audiences that would travel to Portugal to see this concert), we ask you to reconsider the proposal made by Tournée concerning the venue change of your convention to the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, a place that can perfectly shelter and respond to your needs and where there have already been important meetings and reunions like the European Convention. It would be vital that you would be able to be a little patient and show solidarity as this is not a simple concert. It’s a spectacle that chose Portugal to take place instead of many other countries. It would be an international event that along with the recording of the DVD and the music video would bring great prestige to Portugal and would elevate our cultural identity, allowing other events of the same origin to take place in our country.

We have a profound respect for the Faith Convention, the sincere notion that it’s an event of great importance and that the Maná Church has every right to use its reservation: but the Maná Church has another excellent place that can provide every necessity required; the concert can’t take place anywhere else.

It all depends on your decision and valuable effort to make this work for everyone. We will be immensely grateful.
