Dear Mr Prime Minister,

Sub : Demand for Full Inquiry and Justice in Murder of Manjunath Shanmugam for his Fight Against Corruption.

Manjunath Shanmugam, a very capable, honest and upright person, was working as a Sales Manager for Indian Oil Corporation, Lucknow. As can be expected of an honest officer Manjunath did not bend in front of the vice of evil individuals or the system and was actively fighting against corruption.

He was shot dead in Lakhimpur on Nov. 19th 2005.

Circumstantial evidence and preliminary investigation have strongly suggested that it was a conspiracy by the very people (petrol bunk owner/associates) whose corruption he was fighting against.

This has very serious implications on the spirit of honesty and such a sacrifice cannot be allowed to go in vain.

We request your action to ensure justice.

As a specific action we would like to have an independent inquiry and ensure that the family receives justice for this brutal act. Further we urge for a future policy to evolve at IOC and other corporations so that such honest officers do not suffer a similar fate
