Liberdade Política e para Marcelo Pomar

Nós, abaixo-assinados, repudiamos a acusação de “incitação ao crime de linchamento”, sofrida por Marcelo Pomar, militante do Movimento Passe Livre de Florianópolis/SC. Trata-se de mais um episódio de criminalização de movimentos sociais, dessa vez colocando como réu uma das vítimas de um ataque selvagem, ocorrido diante de inúmeras testemunhas, de câmeras de vigilância e com a conivência da Polícia Militar, quando este participativa de um ato político de distribuição de panfletos em sua cidade. Entendemos também que tal descabida inversão dos acontecimentos, que culmina no processo criminal que Marcelo Pomar enfrenta, é um ataque direto não só aos movimentos sociais mas à própria democracia.
Pelo acima exposto, exigimos a absolvição de Marcelo Pomar e a devida apuração dos agressores e seus mandantes naquele episódio do dia 16 de fevereiro de 2006.

We, undersigned, repel the charge of “incitation to crime of lynching” against Marcelo Pomar, activist of the Passe Livre Movement in Florianópolis, Brazil. It features once more a case of criminalization of social movements. This time placing as defendant one of the victims of a physical assault, which was witnessed by countless people, vigilance cameras and was connived by the Police, occurred when he was participating in a public political gathering consisted of handing out leaflets. We also assume that such improper inversion of facts, which culminates in the criminal charge against Marcelo Pomar, is not only a direct assault against social movements, but against democracy as well.
Due to the above mentioned, we demand Marcelo Pomar being acquitted as well as the just finding of the aggressors and their mandators in that event, taken place on February 16th of 2006.
