Catholics for Condom Use Against Aids

Recently Roman Catholic Pope Benedict XVI, on visiting the continent of Africa, stated that "HIV/Aids...cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which can even increase the problem."
We are outraged that the leader of our church would condemn, through ignorance or deception, tens of thousands of African citizens to suffering and death and orphanhood.
We call upon all African leaders to educate their people in the proper use of condoms, to encourage their use as a prophylactic against the Aids virus and to take an active part in the distribution of condoms to their citizens.
