We, the citizens of Pakistan and users and stakeholders of Information and Communication technologies (ICT) after having witnessed an unfair and not based on merit selection procedure of senior management positions at ministry of IT, agree as one body that the procedure adopted to hire the managing director for Pakistan Software Export Board (www.pseb.org.pk) is not only unfair but unlawful as well. The position was advertised in an English daily newspaper on a week day and none of the links of web site given were working. http://epaper.dawn.com/Default.aspx?selpg=1318 Since applications can be sent online only, so there is no way one can apply for the said position.

We believe that this action aims at hiring someone from within the PSEB as hardly any applications will be received if the online application link is made accessible a couple of days before the deadline.

We the stake holders of ICT in Pakistan have decided to draw the attention of Secretary IT and Telecom, The honorable Prime Minister and the honorable Chief Justice of The Supreme Court of Pakistan to take action on this unlawful move by the PSEB. Hiring of incompetent and irrelevant person on this critical position will only result in destabilization of already weak ICT industry and angry stakeholders. We demand that ;

1)The management of PSEB must be questioned on this unlawful procedure of selection for such a critical position.
2)The position of MD PSEB should be properly advertised and web links should be made accessible for all the whole time period given to the candidates.
3)S/he must be a good communicator and a savvy (but honest) marketeer.
4)Any person with no ICT education must not be considered.
