Be it known to all elected representatives who serve the public interest in local, state, provincial or federal governments, I do hereby declare my vehement opposition to any and all breed-specific laws, measures or policies, or any other law which may be used to directly or indirectly discriminate against dogs and their owners based or breed, weight or size, or classification.

Furthermore, I hereby state my full and unwavering support for the promotion of the principles of responsible ownership in the protection of the public health and safety, the implementation of breed-neutral policies, and the right to own any dog, regardless of breed or mix of breed, weight, size or classification.

I call upon my local elected representatives, those who serve only at the will of the people, to protect both innocent dogs and people. I strongly oppose any attempt by any local, state, provincial or federal government to use the PRETEXT of dangerous dogs or the PRETEXT of animal cruelty to remove, revoke or circumvent the civil rights and liberties guaranteed to all citizens under the law, including racial profiling or the combination or racial and breed profiling.

I hereby call upon all local, state or provincial legislatures and leaders to immediately repeal and revoke any breed-specific laws, policies or any measure that currently bans or restricts the ownership of any dog, as being discriminatory and harmful to both people and dogs.

I do hereby pledge my vote to support the dog-friendly candidate of my choice in a local, state, provincial or federal election, and to elect only those candidates who support breed-neutral laws and policies, the promotion of responsible ownership, and will protect the civil liberties and rights of all citizens, regardless of race, class, gender or gender identity, ethnicity or politicial affiliation.

This is my solemn pledge, I do swear.
