A change to MENSA

To:  MENSA elected officials

We wish to see a change in the mission and primary purpose of MENSA International. We want MENSA to fulfill the vision of one its founders, Dr. Lancelot Ware. That is, to be “an alliance of superior minds" (as determined by IQ testing) that could make significant contributions to problem-solving in many areas such as world peace, education, psychology, and ethics.
We would like to see MENSA organized in a fashion that supported state, district, and local meetings purposed to facilitate and coordinate projects and discussions to address real world problems. While there are SIGs (Special Interests Groups) within MENSA, we wish to see this mission pursued my MENSA as an organization.
We believe that by serving our communities, country, and other nations through endeavors of humanitarianism we will fulfill the current mission of MENSA which is: “…to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members.”
We believe this change will cause MENSA to be an organization where gifted individuals will want to join to have the opportunity to serve something greater than themselves in a unique capacity.
