Save Ko Min Hein |
To: UK Home OfficeDear Home Secretary,
We, the undersigned, have urgently raised the following petition out of concern for a
Burmese man called Min Hein. Min Hein is currently being held at a detention centre in
Dover awaiting deportation to Burma (Myanmar). We call to your attention that the
deportation would deny him the rights afforded by the UN Refugee Convention (article 1).
During his time here in the UK, Min Hein has been an active member of the Burmese
democratic movement in the UK. He is a member of the Burmese Democratic Movement
Association and has co-founded Burma Political Forum in 2007 in the wake of the Saffron
Revolution in Burma. Due to his level of commitment to the democratic cause whilst
living abroad, we belive that he will face danger at the hands of the military in Burma.
We, the undersigned, believe that Min Hein will face a very real and unavoidable risk of
intimidation and persecution at the hands of the Burmese military regime.
We would urge you to reconsider his case and override the deportation order.
Sincerely,Sincerely,
