We were lucky to view the final episode of Aaagh! Its the Mr. Hell Show on the 17th of February. Lucky, because as usual the Beeb had buried it unceremoniously in the back end of its Sunday night line-up. Since it appeared quietly and unannounced in late October, we have been loyal viewers of what is the bravest and funniest show the BBC has aired in ages. We have followed the evolution and devolution of Josh the Reincarnation Guy, the psychotic adventures of Serge the Seal of Death, and the hilarious injustices faced by the Lady Victorian Detective, only for the BBC to say sadly we say goodbye to Mr. Hell without any mention of a return.
If it were not for a word-of-mouth campaign initiated by those who happened to chance across the show, Mr. Hell would disappear without a trace. Luckily, we are here and present in numbers, and we shall boycott BBC2 with its endless stream of gardening and cooking shows and fake dinosaur documentaries until Mr. Hells triumphant return to the airwaves.
Once again, the BBC has got its hands on a show that challenges all our expectations and presents us with a style never seen before, and once again theyve dropped the ball. But the buck stops here, we will not let such a funny, outrageous, and visually mad show as Mr. Hell go down without a fight.
So, to arms everybody! Give hell a chance.
