Help Legalize Marijuana

To:  President Obama, US Congress, US Senators, US Governors

I am writing this petition to help the fight the losing battle against Marijuana prohibition.

It has been over 70 years since Marijuana was made illegal to the United States people. Marijuana has proven time and time again, to be harmless to its user, and has proven to be helpful treating medical conditions.

One of the most popular uses, is helping chemotherapy patients with their appetite, and help them to cope with their nausea.

This petition is to help these people, that need marijuana for medical treatment, and for side effects of other medical treatments.

People who are prescribed with medical marijuana, are being persecuted in other states, do to other states non acceptance of the treatment. It is not right for innocent people to be arrested when they use a treatment that is legal in their state, and not others.

This petition is to end, the needless persecution of innocent recreational marijuana users, the ones who use marijuana at their own risk, in their own house, out of the eye of public. These people's homes are raided, and are illegally searched for possession of this drug. They are then persecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

The United States was built by our forefathers, for freedom and choice.

How does our Government uphold these rights today?


Alcohol has been proven time and time again, to be the most harmful drug in America.

Did you know that In 2003, a total of 20,687 persons died of alcohol-induced causes in the United States. The category 'alcohol-induced causes' includes not only deaths from dependent and non dependent use of alcohol, but also accidental poisoning by alcohol. It excludes unintentional injuries, homicides, and other causes indirectly related to alcohol use as well as deaths due to fetal alcohol syndrome.

Yet, not one person has had an overdose from Marijuana, not one person has died from its use. The American government wants you to believe that marijuana is bad, but the fact is, nobody has ever been harmed by this drug, let alone killed.


Do you realize that Marijuana stays in your system for approximate of 30 days?

The DEA's testing of people arrested for Violent crimes, said that 40% of their suspects were under the influence of Marijuana, but their is no certainty to that statement, as marijuana stays in your system for 30 days.

On a random test of Alcohol, 2/3 suspects were under the Influence of Alcohol, which stays in your system for mere hours.

Marijuana wouldn't also help the patients though, it would help our economy as well.

Did you know that Marijuana, would open up a estimated $14-$40 billion dollar profit margin, helping our economy, helping our jobs, and last but not least, helping us as Americans. The taxes made from the production, would help us and our children.


Did you know as of September 28th 2008, the United States broke a 50 year record of debt?, If your wondering what this means, its that we are in as much debt now, as we were in September 1958!

Our layoff rate has been the highest in 7 years, and our unemployment rate is highest it has been in 16 years.

Over 524,000 people lost their jobs in December alone.

Marijuana would open over 600,000 jobs in America.


So the bottom line is, Alcohol, a much deadlier drug, is legal, while Marijuana, a harmless drug, is illegal.
