To:  Major League Baseball

Dear Major League Baseball,

We believe that your policy of banning all non-affiliated websites from gaining credentials with local organizations is unfair, unfounded, and possibly illegal. As followers of baseball, we believe that blogs are becoming one of the best sources for baseball-related news. Often times these local blogs, run by die-hard fans, provide better coverage than so-called "accredited" writers, who usually turn out 162 of the same columns each year from the same template.

We urge you to re-consider this policy and allow legitimate and productive blogs to be evaluated for press credentials. We feel that allowing blogs access to teams will generate better coverage and discussion for fans, and will allow these dedicated bloggers to serve their readers and teams to a greater capacity. We believe making these changes in this electronic era would help Major League Baseball as a whole.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
