Bring back MONK to the BBC

We are now past the 65 mark with signatures.

To:  BBC

I don't watch much TV !

But I did find myself having a soft spot for MONK.
MONK is a detective series by the USA Network which is just starting it's 4th season in America.
A Sherlock Holmes, Columbo type detective (Tony Shalhoub) with an obsessive compulsive disorder.
A funny, smart and cryptic show which has managed to do something quite uncommon in TV land these days... be original!

MONK has been nominated for 8 Emmy awards and won 5 as well as a Golden Globe.
Season 5 & 6 have just got the go ahead.

The BBC ran half of season 2 of Monk and all of season 3... then it stopped.
The BBC have told me they have no plans at all to show anymore MONK.

I don't watch much TV !
But I do pay my licence fee.
The annual cost (set by the Government) is currently £131.50

So, I thought I'd ask 'my' BBC with this petition if they would reconsider and continue to run MONK.

"We take pride in delivering quality and value for money"
Well, they seem to spend a heck of a lot of money on what I would consider to be garbage and just as much is wasted on advertising 'themselves' endlessly on all of their channels and radio stations!
Having broken MONK into the UK in an afternoon slot and building a fan base. It would be a pity if it were now to be a huge hit in a prime time slot for another channel. This would possibly not constitute value for money if you have already put the ground work in and then let someone else steal a great show away from you. (and not for the first time!)

Well, in that spirit I have decided to ask for MONK to return. (you don't say!)

Having already shown MONK I would assume that there are lines of communication already open to buy more MONK.
Hopefully cheaper than other channels since they have originally brought MONK to the UK.

So help me, MONK and the BBC have a huge hit in the UK.
Please sign my petition to bring back MONK which I will pass on to the BBC.

I don't watch much TV, a little MONKish I may be.
But I pay my licence fee, and I'd quite like MONK on the BBC.
