Via Bus Line 551

This is to ask Via if they can make a bus stop at the corner of Cherry Ridge and NW Loop 410 (Bus Route 551). (See map 1)

For those of us that live by there our only option is to either get off bus 551 (at Vance Jackson & 410)and walk the rest of the way, which can be very far! or go all the way to crossroads and wait for bus 550. (There is a bus stop for 550 right in front of the Warren House apartments). (See map 3)

If you are familiar with this are you understand how not having a bus stop right there is really inconvient. There are times (usually after 6 pm or all day sunday) that riders have to wait almost an hour just to go back the same way we came to get off at the very first stop! A stop that we pass going to crossroads!

Our other option, to get off at Vance Jackson and walk up to Cherry Ridge is somewhat dangerous. Walking half way up the exit ramp, the sidewalk completely disappears. Posing a very dangerous situation if you are walking. There are many turns along the access road/exit ramps and sometimes drivers can not see walkers.

It takes the same amount of time. In fact, it is .3 more miles the way the route is now!

This is the map showing how riders have to ride the bus if they need to go inside the loop near Cherry Ridge. Going from the bus stop at vance Jackson & 410 all the way to Crossroads, transfering to another bus, then to Cherry Ridge & 410.
