I'm tired to using mesa (bugged) drivers (r200_dri.so) to have 3d acceleration in my Linux box. R200 drivers are the only that give you a partial 3d acceleration in RS300M* chipsets, but the latest versions (look at mesa 7.0.2/7.0.3) are extremely bugged. For RS300M chipset, ATI don't provide any 3d acceleration, if you have a mobility radeon 9100 IGP (integrated in some laptops) you're fuck*d...

There are two alternatives:

1) ATI can release decent drivers for this old chipset (rs300m).
2) You can trash your ATI graphic card and buy an NVIDIA.

ATI, stop Win2K fascism! make decent drivers for all OS!

* If you have an ati mobility radeon 9100 IGP integrated,
you have a RS300M chipset.
