Film stars Katrina Kaif and Akhshay Kumar have been chosen as the brand ambassadors for the 34th National Games 2009 scheduled to be held in Jharkhand from November 21 to December 5.
Oddly, Unfortunately and to our utter dismay, not serving as a Brand Ambassador is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of Indias national cricket team; Dhoni is a pride to the whole nation and we the people of Jharkhand are proud that he belongs to our state. Dhoni has brought pride to Jharkhand and that too in the field of sports.
The National Games are Indias domestic games equivalent to the international Olympic Games, with 33 sports on display and its a matter of great pride that the National Games are being hosted by Jharkhand. Greatest Sportsman from Jharkhand has not been made brand ambassador for the greatest Sport event to be held in Jharkhand. It is always hard to digest such unhealthy spirit. It will surely set a bad precedent in the history of sports.
We, therefore, request you to please intervene in the matter and do the needful, so that Jharkhands pride and honour could be retained, by appointing Mahendra Singh Dhoni as brand ambassador for the 34th National Games to be held in Jharkhand.
