Make Mumbai A Union Territory

In the recent times, in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra there have been so many incidences that people from other states feel extremely unsafe and the local administration has lost their trust.

Mumbai being the financial capital of India attracts a lot of government aid for infrastructure development which are not properly used by local corrupt administrators. It also attracts workers(both skilled and unskilled) to it looking for employment. Most people are driven to Mumbai because of lack of employment opportunities in their states.

Mumbai is like New York, USA. New York attracts people from across the world but does not see any such racial events. Its because the administration of this city is top notch and unbiased.

The other parties apart from ruling party have openly announced their bias towards people from other parts of the country calling them "outsiders".

While politicians have openly threatened so called "outsiders", rioted and killed many "outsiders", no one from administration or central leadership has come out and condemned these acts, not even the prime minister who is usually quick to express regret on even insignificant events.

This petition is to ask the prime minister and parliament of India to take action and come out of their selective hibernation. To make them aware that people who are from outside of Maharashtra want the administration of Mumbai be taken away from local administrator and Mumbai be declared a union territory and placed directly under centre's rule.

This is the only way, people from outside will feel safe. This will also help improve Mumbai's development efforts as the state governments have failed to secure and utilize funds and implement development projects that scale up with cities needs.

Please sign up this petition and help spread awareness about a situation that is largely neglected by congress led central government and state governments before our country slips into a civil unrest.
