National Referendum on Healthcare

To:  US Congress

We the American people want to participate in the greatest change to our lives ever proposed in times of peace by our Federal Government. Our Health Care is of paramount importance to us, our families and those we love. It is both a personal issue of our life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, privacy and an economic issue. Health care is one sixth of our economy.

In the greatest country in the history of the world, a Democracy that sets the standards for democracies the world over, We The People want a nationwide referendum to decide on the creation of a public health care option. We do not want to leave it to legislators who are removed from our opinions and influenced by special interests to decide for us. They were never elected with a decision of this magnitude in mind.

We want each and every American to have their voice heard. If you claim it is for our own good, let US decide. Do not take this all important, fundamental decision away from us. It is our health, our lives, our money, and our country. It should be our decision.
