New Screen Writer For 'New Moon' Movie |
To: Summit EntertainmentDear Summit Entertainment...
The Twilight saga fan community feel very strongly about an issue with your chosen screen writer for 'New Moon'.
If you look at any of the fan reviews all over the internet there are some very common flaws in the script of Twilight. It was too ''choppy'' it didn’t flow and a lot of magic was lost. We understand that a book will not be able to hold completely true when adapted but key points where left out (which will now interfere with the sequel‘s key points) and there were new unneeded scenes which had NO impact on the story. That is mostly down to the screen writer. Twilight the movie didn’t have a constant flow and the climax didn’t happen. A lot of the scenes and dialogue seemed as if the audience were only getting half of the scene and the rest was on the editing floor.
I know that Catherine Hardwicke is no longer the director but what you are failing to realise is that Melissa Rosenberg is a major factor for the very very split reaction to the movie Twilight, not the director. Rosenberg’s adaptation of the first book, Twilight, was very poorly put across. This is a subject that has split the fans of the Twilight saga down the middle.
The screen play of Twilight lacked one thing; realism.
It stayed true to the book but it didn’t capture of the characters depth. At times it felt as if cardboard cut outs could have been used to fill the space of many main characters and no one would have noticed.
And we as a Twilight community would urge you to reconsider other script writers too. Screen writers that would be able to adapt the second book, New Moon, with a lot more depth and not a half hearted skim read.Sincerely,
