Back in the 1990s, the video game industry witnessed the rise of arguably one of the best racing games on the market, if not the best of its time. The Need for Speed series has gone through a lot of changes throughout the 13 year run since its first release on the 3DO, but perhaps the most evident is the influence of street racing and vehicle customization.

While Need for Speed is still going strong and is still accumulating great sales over the time, the true meaning of the series has corroded. Some of us fans, "old school" as we're been called, have lived through the changes, witnessing the deviation in direction the series has undergone throughout the last few years, perhaps starting with the release of Need for Speed: Underground. Many of us would love to play another Hot Pursuit or High Stakes, where all that matters is taking $300,000+ four wheeled machines onto the hottest tracks and burn rubber as the cops struggle to go past the limits of their own speedometer.

Hot Pursuit and High Stakes were simple, but well done. They didn't have twisting storylines with computerized cutscenes, nor they had the thousands of different customization options present in the recent Need for Speed Carbon, all they had was a whole set of Exotic cars (with some Muscle cars tucked in), a whole set of tracks ranging from mediterranean settings to tropical locations and even arctic like climate. For myself and many of us, seeing all that return back in new next generation graphics and expanded gameplay (such as the addition of free roam) is more than enough to guarantee a purchase.

We, therefore, would greatly appreciate having one more sequel to the classic Need for Speed releases, namely Hot Pursuit or High Stakes. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
