Wii Storage Solution

Dear Nintendo,

We the undersigned, are absolutely fed up with your refusal to recognize the need for a storage solution on the Nintendo Wii Console and respectfully request that you comply with our needs as the users of your product.

As loyal customers of your online download services, we demand a solution to this problem, weather it is implemented via full SD card support or an external hard drive peripheral made by Nintendo or other hardware manufacturers. This is not a frivolous request made by an elitist group but is something necessary to allow users to continue to purchase games and other software online. For instance, a user that has owned the Wii since launch and has only downloaded 1 game per month (even though several are released per week) will be out of room for new games shortly if they are not already! The release of WiiWare on May 12th only exacerbates this growing problem, since many of these new games are much larger than their VC counterparts.

Copying or deleting/re-downloading games that have been purchased is not a viable option. Yes, it can be done, but the fact of the matter is that doing so is very annoying and hastens the process of obtaining new games, maybe even preventing it entirely. Many of these games are fun, quick, pick-up and play games that are good in short bursts for people who are busy. They will not waste time even looking for new games when they have no room for these to begin with. The lack of a storage solution will eventually make consumers involuntarily boycott all new content.

Boycotting all VC and WiiWare does not bring productive results to anyone. Poor sales over time will discourage small developers from continuing to bring new and unique ideas to the system and is something that we do not wish to see happen. It will severely limit our gaming selection! Here is what we propose...

A partial boycott of VC and WiiWare, namely any Nintendo produced software. By doing so, we support the developers that are creating new content while showing our discontent for the lack of options in storing this content.

Nintendo, we want to support you, please let us do so by providing a storage solution by any means available.
