Dear UT Athletic Department,

First of all, Everyone who has signed the following petition is a Texas Longhorn by all accounts- whether we are alumni, students, or fans- and we are all joined together as one by this distinction.

This petition is meant to address the current entrance video played on the Godzillatron at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium before home games kick off. The current entrance video features animated Bevos running through an animated North End Zone, and also shows short clips of great moments/highlights in Texas Football history.

We do not like the current entrance video, mainly because it appears a bit amateur and does not showcase our great university like it should. We have a deep, rich history here at the University of Texas, and certainly not just in football. We would like all of our Longhorn fans to be reminded of that history before each home game, as well as showcasing it to our visiting fans. The University of Texas at Austin is a first-class university all the way around, and it should be demonstrated that way in the entrance video to all fans at each and every game at Darrell K Royal- Texas Memorial Stadium.

To reiterate, the signers of this petition, as alumni, students, and fans, are not satisfied with the current entrance video and would like it to be modified for the 2009 Season. Mainly, we would like to see much less animation and much more highlights and great moments in Texas Football history, such as the 2005 National Championship season. We would also like it to display our entire university in a first-class fashion in addition.

The entrance video is also meant to create a game-day atmosphere filled with the pageantry of college football. The entrance video sets the tone for the rest of gameday. Longhorn players, coaches, and fans should all feel significantly "pumped up" after seeing/listening to this video. Our Longhorns should be able look up and remember they are always playing for those guys who wore the uniform before them. They should feel proud to wear burnt orange and have TEXAS printed across their uniform.

Our Longhorn fans should also feel extremely proud of their university and team alike, and the stadium atmosphere should be electric. It needs to be a video designed for motivation, but in a way that salutes the traditions and history of this great university in a classic manner that everyone will appreciate.

We would also be happy to offer any needed assistance in making this new entrance video the best it can possibly be for the 2009 Texas Football Season and for years to come. Thank you for your time.
