We the people, in this petition, are making a clear statement to the next President of the United States what kind of country we want the United States to be. In addition, those who sign this petition will often be adding to what is written below, describing what kind of country they want the United States to be.

We want the United States to be a country that truly is a role model for the rest of the world.

We want the United States to be a country where we can truly feel that we're a part of a team when we go to work, and part of a family when we go home.

We want the United States to be a country where we know that our voice matters, whether we're at work, or whether we're at home.

We want the United States to be a country where our leaders are a source of inspiration.

We want the United States to be a country where we can go outside any time of the day, and experience the smell of fresh air, and the sight of green
grass.

We want the United States to be a country that can appreciate the beauty of a wild rose, and the power of a Beethoven symphony.

We want the United States to be a country where we know that if we fall down, someone will be there to help us back up.

We want the United States to be a country where we don't have to live in a gated community in order to feel safe.

We want the United States to be a country where we don't have to live in fear of retaliation for speaking our mind.

We want the United States to be a country where we don't have to interrogate strangers before we trust them.

We want the United States to be a country where "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," is something that anyone can obtain without being part of a reality show.

We want the United States to be a country that pays more attention to acts of courage, than it does to acts of cowardice.

We want the United States to be a country which encourages people not to be the worst they can be, but the best they can be.

We want the United States to be a country which creates opportunities for all of its people.

We want the United States to be a country which doesn't tolerate diversity, but celebrates diversity.

We want the United States to be a country that celebrates the institution of marriage without finding it necessary to exclude certain people from participating in it.

We want the United States to be a country where we can see all the stars at night.

We want the United States to be a country whose natural beauty we can enjoy without being arrested for trespassing.

We want the United States to be a country where we can stand on top of the highest mountain, and truly believe that this really is our country, and not some piece of private property.
