NHRA points System

Dear NHRA and Powerade,

This petition is being written in the hope that NHRA and Powerade will correct a horrible mistake. It is strongly believed that the new points system is unnecessary and harmful to our sport. The new countdown cheapens our sport and ruins the integrity of our championships. Drag Racing is already an exciting sport, it does not need the staged drama of a welfare points system.

Our goal is simple, we want the current championship system to remain intact. This system has proven to have exciting championship battles such as this year’s Top Fuel Dragster and Pro Stock Motorcycle chases as well as last seasons Funny Car Title. The current system also crowns a true season champion.

Please reconsider the points system, allow true competition to happen on the track and let our championships be authentic.
