The Unpollution of Nickelodeon

we, the undersigned, would like to express our concern with the direction nickelodeon has recently taken with its programming. The quality and originality the network is known for has been appearing less and less, and our attention has been turning away from the new, and toward the old. The old Nickelodeon. Its cartoons, the ORIGINAL Nicktoons, back when the name carried with it a sense of respect, a sense that these were not like other cartoons...these cartoons were a step above the rest. Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, Ahh Real Monsters. Its shows, entertaining and creative. Clarissa Explains it All, Salute Your Shorts, The Adventures of Pete and Pete. And its game shows, unlike any others. Double Dare, Global Guts, Legends of the Hidden Temple. THIS is what we think of when we think of Nickelodeon.

These programs, the ones that shaped the network, helped give it an identity, a reputation of quality...these programs are being IGNORED by Nickelodeon. There is no show dedicated to the Nickelodeon shows of old, no one hour block, no early morning viewings. There are only the random appearances. Brief flashes amongst the regularly scheduled programming.

We feel this needs to change. Whether it be with some form of scheduled viewing, or better yet, an entirely NEW network devoted to these shows, or another option. We just want our classic Nickelodeon.

And our voices WILL be HEARD.
