Noynoy for President 2010

To:  Filipinos

Like most of you I was part of the EDSA revolution in 1986, I was scared then angry then hopeful. As years passed that hopefulness slowly turned into frustration into surrender eventually into callousness.

I grow old and I grow tired of all the corruption and indifference our country is in, I am tired of our dysfunctional government. I refuse to accept the kind of government we had with ERAP and the government we have with GMA, I do not wish for my children to inherit a government that is one of the most corrupt in the world. My kids, our kids deserve better than that.

Among the many inspiring words of Cory none has touched my core more than the last public statement she has given “ I thank God for making me into a Filipino” at first glance this might be construed as a another rhetoric, but upon thinking about it deeper , maybe Cory the saint and Ninoy the patriot really sees that magic in our blood, that we are not a basket case, that we are just growing and maturing as a society, and once we mature we can become a great nation.

I write this to ask you if you feel these things like I do. Do you wish for a better society for your brothers and sisters, a better government for our children?

2010 in my view will be a crucial turning point, do we continue the process of corruption and just change the name and faces of our leaders or do we give more time more effort more resources to make sure we get what we truly deserve. A leader who will lead us, unite us in ending corruption in government and truly start building our nation. A leader who can bring out the love of country in us (which we have seen on occasions) and put our society on its way in building a great nation.

I write this to ask you to petition Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Cojuangco Aquino III to run for President in 2010. In the same manner Chino Rocces collected 1 million signatures to petition Cory in 1985, if you think that Noynoy will be the person to end corruption and be a moral beacon for us Filipinos, please sign the petition and ask others to sign as well to convince Noynoy that we need him to lead us.
