Jack Cochran was removed as football coach at New London High School in New London, CT. His removal was based on claims that Mr. Cochran knowingly violated the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) rules governing off-season workouts or practices while coaching the high school's baseball team. The facts relating to the off-season workouts prove that the claim is false.

On April 13, the CAS board sent notice to Mr. Cochran and the superintendent that it had voted on April 9 to send the matter back to the CIAC for further proceedings. No final decision had been made on on the original claim yet the superintendent chose to remove Jack Cochran as football coach.

This has been devastating to the both Coach Cochran's students and the players he coaches who have posted the following on a Bring Back Jack site.

“Jack Cochran is not just a football coach but a positive image for the youth of New London. Whether a student was the starting quarterback on the football team, the trumpet player in the band or a student in his Health class, Coach Cochran has been a positive influence in our lives.
Coach Cochran doesn’t just teach the sport of football. He’s our Life Coach, teaching us character, commitment and other qualities necessary for success in our lives. Please help bring Jack back"
