Whereas Senator John Ensign has disgraced his family, friends, the great state of Nevada, his party, the Senate and all of Congress;

Whereas Senator John Ensign has lost the ability to work for the state of Nevada which he was elected to represent, exemplified by the no-confidence vote for his "Travel Promotion Act." (The bill would have helped the hard-working citizens of Nevada, the economically hardest hit state in the union);

Whereas John Ensign still draws a sizable paycheck from the taxpayers of this country;

Whereas there have been so many deceptions surrounding John Ensign's affair that the people of Nevada can no longer trust his word;

Whereas investigations of possible criminal activity are piling up including:

1). Ensign's family's payment of nearly $100,000 in hush money, and;
2). Ensign's allowing a former employee to lobby him on behalf of corporations within one year of his leaving his staff, a Senate ethics violation:

Therefore be it resolved that John Ensign is firmly requested to:

1). Do what is required of a discredited representative,
2). Do what is right for the great people of the state of Nevada,
3). Help his party distance itself from continued disgrace,
4). Help Nevada get the representation it so desperately needs in its Senators,

By resigning his elected post to make way for a more effective and honorable person to stand for Nevada in the US Senate.
