In this day and age, progressive cities (like Fort Worth, TX, Washington, DC and 8 counties near Metro Atlanta) have used less toxic measures to effectively manage mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. These cities experienced no higher rates of West Nile virus than cities that have chosen to spray.

We, the residents of Davidson County in Nashville, TN, do not support the Health Department's choice to use pesticides in non-emergencies. We demand that the Metro Public Health Department stop risking our health by unnecessarily spraying poisons in our neighborhoods in the name of public health.

We are dismayed by the Health Department's lack of policies and scientific protocol. For the health of our community, we demand your immediate action on creating effective and responsible mosquito management policies with the least toxic approaches.
