We don't support Chris Buttars

To:  Chris Buttars

Senator Chris Buttars has made many comments which have become an embarrassment to himself, his constituents, and the State of Utah.

-On the floor of the Utah State Senate, he stated, when commenting on a bill that hurt is district "This baby is black. It is a dark and ugly thing."

-In response to the comments of Utahans, he said that he was being attacked by a "hate lynch mob."

-He also state that he didn't know what to say to "those people," referring to the NAACP.

-These comments follow comments he made in 2006 to a Logan radio station that the Supreme Court case Brown vs. Board of Education was a "mistake."

-He has also made made disparaging remarks about homosexuals, and anyone who doesn't agree with him.

For these, and many other reasons, we stand and say "We don't support Chris Buttars."
