0001: Stop Sony's Production of Richard Clarke's Partisan Propaganda Book.

To:  Amy Pascal & The Shareholders of Sony

Upon hearing of Sony’s plans to turn Richard Clarke’s book, “Against All Enemies” into a feature film, many people have found this prospect to be a veritable insult. The fact of the matter is, Mr. Clarke’s book is very inconsistent with his own past statements, and those of his fellow intelligence agents. Mr. Clarke’s book is full of misrepresentations, half-truths, and all out lies. The label of “nonfiction” for his book is a joke.

The making of this film would be an insult to everyone who lost friends or family on September 11th, 2001. It would unjustly demonize the Bush Administration and be nothing more than a politically motivated partisan propaganda film, designed to invent a conspiracy that isn’t there.

It has been proven that many of the claims Clarke makes in his book are outright lies. Clarke’s book claims that he attended meetings with important intelligence officials, but records clearly show he never attended these meetings. Furthermore, he claims that key administration officials attended meetings at which he was present, when they were not in attendance. Additionally, Richard Clarke’s own past interviews and testimony totally contradict what his book claims, proving that his attacks on the Bush Administration are nothing more than politically motivated spin.

We, the undersigned, call upon Sony’s Vice President, Amy Pascal, to cease production of this controversial film project, which she has spearheaded. We further ask that the shareholders of Sony call upon Amy Pascal to do likewise, and call for her dismissal should she refuse to do so.

This partisan project spits in the faces of the 9/11 victims and their families, the members of our nation’s intelligence community, our brave men and women in the armed forces, and anyone who knows the truth of Richard Clarke’s political agenda. Should the higher-ups of Sony refuse to cease production of this film, we call upon the Shareholders to take whatever steps necessary to see that this film is stopped, including boycotts, dumping of stock, and/or demands to replace those higher-ups who seek to play partisan politics at America’s expense.
