No to PPP-MQM Deal |
To: The PPP LeadershipNo Power Sharing With MQM in Sindh
Sindh, to be sure, was hit the most during the autocratic rule. Despite the fact that the people of Sindh had given clear mandate to PPP in 2002 elections, an ill-assorted alliance of feudal and terrorists was installed in power. Sindh had been bled white during these dark years. The sovereignty of Sindhis had been undermined, their resources ruined, and plundered, educational institution remained closed to the natives. We saw our villages being bulldozed, illegal immigrants being offered citizenship at the behest of MQM. Sindhi feudals remained a mask; the actual rulers were the terrorists.
Sindh took a sigh of relief when PPP emerged as the majority party in Sindh. It is important to note that despite flagrant rigging in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts if Sindh, the people have given an almost unanimous verdict. Sindh is the only province of Pakistan where a single party has mustered enough seats to form the government exclusively-the verdict of the people in ther provinces, including the centre, is divided. This very fact should suggest that Sindh be the most stable province. But the powers those be, do not want, they had never wanted, a stable Sindh government. The fascists have started the gory drama of murder, arson, and political blackmail.
We do not relish the very sight, the democrats exchanging smiles with proto-Nazis.
We, the petitioners, request the leadership of the PPP to please learn political ethics from the hunger-striken, downtrodden, since centuries marginalized peasants (HARIS), who stood by PPP in the hour of the need and defeated prince-like criminal feudals even in their home polling stations. Lets learn from the poor of Larkana, Dadu, Qambar, Kahirpur, Thata, and thar. Lets also not forget the one million souls who voted for PPP in Karachi.
Sirs, your greatest help is the people.
Sincerely,
