O Museu Nacional dos Coches conserva e expõe no ambiente requintado do antigo Picadeiro Real uma excepcional colecção de viaturas reais do século XVII aos finais do século XIX.
Considerada a mais notável colecção do mundo do seu género permite ao visitante compreender não só a evolução técnica dos transportes de tracção animal como acompanhar as mudanças de gosto manifestadas nas artes decorativas tão bem expressas na ornamentação das viaturas.

O Museu Nacional dos Coches é um dos museus mais visitados de Portugal e o mais visitado da cidade de Lisboa e aos visitantes portugueses e estrangeiros não é indiferente a dignidade e o ambiente que lhe conferem a qualidade do espaço actual.

Os abaixo assinados requerem a V.Exa. intervenção no sentido da manutenção do actual espaço e investimento do montante destinado ao novo projecto a favor de museus e outras instituições nacionais, como tribunais, escolas e centros de saúde.

Mr. President,

The National Coach Museum houses and exhibits, under the exquisite ambiance of the old Royal Riding Arena of Belém Palace, an exceptional collection of ceremonial vehicles from the Royal Family, dating from the 17th Century to the late 19th Century.
Considered the most remarkable collection in the world of this kind, it allows the visitor to follow both the technical evolution of animal pulled transport and the changes of taste expressed in the decorative arts and vehicle ornaments.
The National Coach Museum is one of the most visited museums in Portugal and certainly the most visited in Lisbon and, to the Portuguese and foreign visitors it is not indifferent the dignity and quality of the environment of the current space.
The undersigned request His Excellency intervention in order to keep the current space and level of investment destined to the new project in favor of national museums and other national institutions, as courts, schools and health centers .
