Save Numb3rs from oblivion |
To: Nina Tassler President, CBS EntertainmentWe, the undersigned, having found out that once again, an executive decision based on finance rather than the ideal of entertainment has meant that a high profile and much loved television programme has suffered the indignity of having its run reduced from the scheduled 22 episodes to 16, hereby declare our support for the CBS programme 'Numb3rs', the cast, crew and writers of said show.
It is with great sadness that we learnt of this decision today (5th November 2009) and have even been called upon by some with a direct involvement in the show to highlight the plight of one of the most unique and innovative shows on television. We thereby call on the executives of CBS to reconsider this decision and grant 'Numb3rs' its full season quota of 22 episodes and recommission the show for a 7th season in 2010. The show has consistently won its time slot in the ratings every week and is a flagship drama for the network. It would, in our opinion, be a tragic mistake to diminish its reputation by forcing the writers to re-write the second half of the season because of the decision to cut the run. This petition is to show our whole-hearted support for 'Numb3rs', the cast and crew, which we hope will vocalise all our feelings and persuade you, Nina Tassler, and CBS to reverse your decision.Sincerely,
