Petition To Re-Open Proposition 102 In Arizona |
To: State of Arizona Governor Janet NapolitanoThis petition was created to address the need to re-open Proposition 102 in Arizona.
WHY?
Because marriage is a basic human right and an individual personal choice, resolved, the state should not interfere with same-gender couples who choose to marry and share fully and equally in the rights, responsibilities and commitment of civil marriage.
Under any interpretation of American constitutional law, marriage is considered a basic civil right. Therefore, the government should end its discrimination by recognizing the right of same-sex couples to access civil marriage.
The United States Constitution, in the 14th Amendment, says that every one of us is entitled to "equal protection of the laws."
Anything Less Is Less Than Equal!
The sin is not in whom one loves. The sin is with those who want their narrowly defined religious beliefs enshrined in the Arizona Constitution.
Stand up for equality and show our support for equal rights! By signing this petition, you will show your support for this movement.Sincerely,
