Form the 51st state, North Virginia!!!

To:  Virginia lawmakers

Northern Virginia is THE thriving economic engine of the whole Commonwealth of Virginia. Unfortunately, our economic sucess has also lead to tremendous congestion on our roads, with people sitting in rush hour traffic that can sometimes last as late as 8:00 PM. Numerous attempts to get more state money to relieve our traffic congestion have failed, with an authority created by the state legislature to raise money having been ruled unconstitutional by the state Supreme Court. This aside, this region has never been treated fairly by downstate lawmakers who control things in Richmond. Therefore, we, the undersigned, have decided that enough is enough and want to take the following action. We propose that the following jurisdictions be allowed to secede from the rest of Virginia and form the 51st state, to be forever known as North Virginia: Counties of Arlington, Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William, and the cities of Fairfax, Alexandria, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
